March 13, 2025. Hollywood, Florida. Each year for the past 15 years, the Music Club of Hollywood gives awards to local accomplished young musicians from $250 to $1,000.
Eighteen (18) students from Miami, Broward, and Palm Beach County, from school and college, have been chosen to audition in person to compete for grants on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at the South Florida Conservatory of Music located at 1940 Harrison Street in Hollywood. This event is open to the public from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm.
“The auditions are something of a right of passage for these students, and over the years, we have had many students go on with wonderful careers in music as well as other professions,” says Robert Coopman, President of the Music Club of Hollywood.
The students apply for these grants and have to submit a video of two contrasting pieces in the categories of classical or jazz music. Three judges are there to evaluate, and at the end of the day, the students receive their ratings or scores and the top scorers receive monetary awards.
